Rings, designed by Michael Anastassiades for Mutina, is a natural oak parquet collection that reveals the hidden beauty of wood through cross-cut end-grain modules. Each 17.5x17.5cm tile exposes the concentric growth rings of the oak - creating a surface that reads as both organic and geometric, where the passage of time is made visible in every annual ring.
Two variations define the collection: Plain, which celebrates the pure beauty of the exposed grain, and Brass, which introduces aged délabré brass inserts that reference the layered metallic debris found embedded in industrial factory floors. Built on a two-layer construction - a 4mm noble oak top layer bonded to birch plywood backing with cross-laminated fibres - Rings delivers structural stability alongside its expressive surface. Random assembly of four oak pieces per module ensures a non-oriented pattern that reads naturally across any floor area, while the wood's inherent character evolves over time, darkening gently with exposure to light.
