Bas-Relief, designed by Patricia Urquiola for Mutina, is an exploration of relief, shadow, and digital craft. Produced through an artisanal extrusion process, each tile becomes a sculptural surface, offering depth and dimension through intricate bas-relief patterns.
The collection features four unique patterns — Code, Patchwork, Garland, and Cloud — each expressing a different visual language: the strict linearity of Code, the evolving layered motifs of Patchwork, the contemporary floral geometry of Garland, and the light, abstract bubble-like texture of Cloud. These designs create a dynamic chiaroscuro effect as light interacts with different depths and heights on the surface.
Bas-Relief is available in three natural colours — Bianco, Cipria, and Nero. The wall modules measure 18×54 cm, while the Code pattern also includes a 26.5×18 cm format suitable for floors and walls. Variations in colour, tone, and size are intrinsic to the hand-made process, ensuring each installation feels organic, tactile, and visually rich.
With its sculptural presence and artisanal character, Bas-Relief is ideal for residential and commercial interiors, feature walls, boutique environments, and architectural spaces that celebrate texture and craftsmanship.
